Collection Plate Churches Often Go Broke

  The days of passing the collection plate around in order to fund a church and it’s outre a ch projects are long behind us. As a matter of fact, the churches that are constantly and vocally asking their members for money are simply losing membership to other seemingly well funder churches that do not focus so much on constantly harassing their members to give. My wife and I are members of a church that has never passed a collection plate out in front of us and yet the members of the church go above and beyond the tithe weekly. That being said, we all know that regardless of how noble we try to make this sound, churches need funds to function. Electricity, heat, water, supplies, staff, rent, real estate fees, etc. all cost money. One cannot simply pretend that a church without funds can survive in today’s world where we are charged “x” amount of dollars if we sneeze. Everyday Common Expressions With Bible Origins

  Did you know that hundreds, maybe even thousands of expressions used in normal, every day conversation originated from The Holy Bible? Even the most adamantly atheist or agnostic individual has used at least one or two of these common phrases in the last month. Some may even recognize one they’ve used today. Since no one wants to be on here rea d ing for days, I will limit the number of expressions & phrases in this post to 18. I’ll label this one Part I (1–18) and if you want more, I’ll write Part II (19–36), Part III (37–54) and so on.
